You Have To Look Back To Look Forward

Dear friends,

I cannot believe I am writing the first newsletter for 2023!

Two years ago, I have started the practice to begin the year with reflecting over the previous year. Both mentors in different programmes, Paula Janse van Rensburg and Nicolene Elhadad, has taught me this beautiful practice and I quite look forward to it every year. This is where I ask myself, what do I need to stop doing and what do I need more of?

There are different questions you can ask yourself:

  1. Where did you succeed?
  2. What did you enjoy the most?
  3. What lessons did you learn?
  4. What are you most proud off?
  5. What do you want to accomplish?

It is important to write these down and by the end of the year you can look back at them and do the same.

  • I am proud to say that we have smashed some business goals!
  • We have created a membership.
  • We revamped our website to a website that works for our business.
  • We have successfully placed twenty candidates.
  • We have been in business for four years full time. Looking forward to the five-year party this year 😊
  • We hosted a very successful receptionist workshop.
  • I have employed an assistant!
  • We had negotiated various successful unfair labour disputes.
  • We have educated business owners.
  • We overcame daily challenges.
  • On a personal level I have finished the Two Oceans Marathon.
  • And I have judged my first open dog show as a learner judge.

Our plan for the new year is:

  • To open more locations.
  • Continue our educating and support of business owners.
  • And to better our time management. (It is here where I have to be strict about what I need to stop doing.)

I hope you enjoy reflecting on your last year as much as I did.
